Joining model railroad track rails of different codes can be intimidating at best. There are commercial rail joiners for this job, but they are expensive and can be hard to find. The track joining jig offered by Blue Ridge Trax makes this job easier and more accurate.
When joining rails of different codes, the alignment of the top and inside rail must be correct. The rail height and widths are different; and this must be accounted for to have a successful transition. The top of the rail must line up perfectly so there is no bump, and the inside of the rail head should also line up to allow the wheel flange to smoothly make the transition. When joining similar code tracks, the BRT1044 track joiner can join rails with nearly a invisible joint.
The BTR1044 has precision machined groves which precisely align the two rails at the same height to make a smooth transition. The joiner is made of high temperature GPO-3 material which can stand up to the heat of soldering. It will not melt.
We offer the BRT1044 for joining many different rail gauges and codes. They are designed to join the common rail codes for each gauge.
